I used to use EBC pads when I raced my old Accord (SCCA), I loved em. They worked well in all temperatures for me and stopped great.

i Guys,

About the EBC brakepads,

Why are they cheaper? Well the answer is , that they worn your disc after heavy braking.

I taught , cool just 200 $ for my M5 , front and rear, now i have changed my mind after buying new discs.

After braking a while they don't brake at all.

For normal use they are quite ok.

Just my experience of EBC

yes the right
+1 If you change to Red or yellow stuff then the OEM disk will ware down fast when hard braking.
I have change my to sports disk on my car.

I actually joked about hard pads along similar line, didnt realize it would actually happen.

This reminds me I should consider getting some better discs together with the pads. but I imagine the discs on the m5 ought to be quite hard wearing already.

could you shed more color on what you meant by 'dont brake at all'. Do you mean: after a few k kms or after several hard braking? Did you use yellow or red stuff?

if you are not happy with them, have you changed back to bmw stock or any other brands?

I think he is refering to the brake fading, i had similar problem on my old greenstuff after continuous braking.
it never happened to my newly redstuff anymore

Last time I tried green stuff, thought fade resistance was much better than stock also but the pedal feel was too soft to my liking

I had the yellow stuff pads and after a half day on the track they were completely black and dead.
Fading i didn't had because i had already steel brakelines, they just didn't do anything anymore ( no braking at all )

Now i have installed stoptech BBK front and rear ( amazing braking )

If you ask a good dealer or garage they will say the same about EBC.

The disc of a M5 are the same has on a 7 series so superb are they not.

Brakes of all M series are not quite superb at all.

Same on my previous M3 E46.

Go for Padeg

hi

I read poor feedback from people who used yellow stuff on track, though I dont know if they used the new material or not.

Porsche use brembo on their cars and I definitely agreed with you that bmw should use better brakes on the Ms. I was so shocked to discover that the e90 m3 only use floating calipers.

As re. stoptech BBK, how are they to use on pubilc road? do they need to warm up at all?

Keith was very kind to let me try his red stuff last nite and I thought the braking power was excellent so much so that it was easy to lock up the front wheels.
