For ME it would be the Z8. Ten years from now when the M5 has been replaced and the New and improved M5 the Z8, instant classic ... IMHO

Haven't looked into to recently, but I think the Z8s have leveled out around 100K. I'm pretty sure I'd get one over a M5 and get something like an accord if I needed the space.

Alas, I'd definitely get a porsche over the Z8. Brand new, I'd get a 997s or used I'd look into a 996TT or a GT3. Any of those cars over a M5 without a doubt.

Don't get me wrong, I enjoy and appreciate the e60 as much as the next person, but the first couple of times I saw the M5, I couldn't help but feel a bit disappointed. I understand the performance is there and its supposed to be an mild mannered sleeper so to speak, but I wish it was a little more flamboyant and imposing in its looks and demeanor.

Although I love the Z8, there's no question that I'd buy the M5...

Me too. I would look into getting a Porsche if I wanted this level of performance. I always thought, however, that part of the appeal of the M5 is that it's a sedan able to run right alongside a Porsche and hold it's own on a track. That part of the M5 I particularly like.

What do you think of the current crop of aftermarket aerokits available? (Hartge, Hamann, ACS)

If these are different than the original kits available, then I haven't had the chance to see them as of yet.

You know, 007 had a Z8!!!

I must say, it's a hard choice... For pure performance the M5. But I would go for the Z8. It's an amazing good looking car !!!

I'd love the Bond version of the Z8, however, it's because of the options (i.e. Military Package, Espionage Package).
