Default drain plug oil leak

Just changed the oil on my 08 550i. Followed the DIY to the letter. Car is leaking oil. Jacked it up and the filter housing is fine and dry. The drain plug is slowly leaking around it in spite of placing the new gasket and torquing it. Any ideas why this would be? All priors were by the dealer (car had extended warranty.) I have $50 bucks of new synthetic oil that I don't want to re-drain out of the car.......but I guess that's what I gotta do.
By the way, what a pain in the ass BMW makes an oil change in the E60. I have 3 older BMWs that are a breeze.

What did you torque it to? Did you use a new copper crush ring? Could be there is something stuck on the seat of the oil pan causing a poor seating of the copper crush ring.

torqued to 25 nm
New copper ring came with Mahle filter. Took all oil out and went back to prior copper ring. Still leaks. I think its stripped. I'm mad at BMW. I've had 20 cars in my life and never had this problem. It's almost like it's designed to be frustrating so you'll take it to them.
Why not a big effing bolt like every other car instead of a pussy hex bolt with a round head that has to be finessed?

If you were able to get it torqued to 25 Nm, then I'm not sure it is stripped. The ring itself should provide the barrier to leaking. My wife's X5 had the bolt hole cross threaded by BMW on the last oil change before it went off included maintenance. Of course, I didn't find out until a year later. I chased the threads, but I couldn't get the bolt to 25 Nm. Had to use a time-sert on the hole.
