On the M5 and 550i we pay $700 a year with State Farm, and we also have 2 other non- BMW cars on the policy. Only one driver is under 25.

25.. with spotless record.. 138/m... 100k/300k coverage on 2007 550i... insured through American Family.. located in Seattle WA.
I had an 05 Subaru STi .. since i was 22 - 25 and i paid.. around 175-180/month (same coverage as above stated).. but after i turned 25.. insurance rate went down to around 130/m (same coverage)
if you're gonna get an M5.. get ready to throw down some MONEYS for insurance..

I pay $145 a month and that's for three cars, full coverage, $1,000 deductible collision, $0 comprehensive.
three cars are a 2008 550i, a 2006 325XI and a 2002 Jeep Liberty.
State Farm, since age 16 and I'm now 39.
Not bad.

In NJ you'll really pay more!!
.... the annual premium for the xi was est @ $1950 ... the M5 ... ready for this ... $4800!
My current premium for the 530xi is now $1200 - of course it's 4 years older.
Of course it's NJ and we have the best politicians money can buy! And they're all in bed with the insurance companies and lobbyists.

The bigger issue with the M5 is the price of gas. If you drive 15000 miles per year and average price per gallon of premium fuel is $3 / gallon then you will be spending about $4500 / year in gas.
