I don't own an M5, but I can tell you that if you are male, under 25 and not married you will be in the highest risk category - even if you have a spotless driving record.

If you live in or near a large city you are going to pay even more.

+1

In NJ you'll really pay more!!

When I evaluated the cost of insurance when I bought my 530xi vs an M5 with a SPOTLESS driving record (no tickets - no chargeable accidents for 20+ years) 2 adult drivers only etc. With 3 cars on the policy the 530xi [sticker $64K] vs M5 [sticker $90K] (300K/1M Liability, comprehensive $500 deductible and collision w/$1k deductible etc etc etc etc ... the annual premium for the xi was est @ $1950 ... the M5 ... ready for this ... $4800!

My current premium for the 530xi is now $1200 - of course it's 4 years older. Still have a no-claims no violation record and drive less than 12K miles / year.

Of course it's NJ and we have the best politicians money can buy! And they're all in bed with the insurance companies and lobbyists.

been with statefarm since i was 16..i'm 23 now..and insurance would be about 135 a month for me when i called. depends on who u go through..and i have a spotless driving record. in us when u use state farm as ur first choice when ur 16..if you stick with them instead of them waiting until ur 25 to lower ur insurance each year they drop it down..so by 25 you have low insurance but its not so bad along the way

Are you saying $135 a month FULL COVERAGE on an M5? On your own policy and not your parents'?? If so, that's about $1,600 a year and that's not bad at all......just don't get into an accident and have to file a claim

Dude, get another quote somewhere! I have same make, model, year, driving record as you and pay half that (with just one other car on the policy). Liberty Mutual gives discounts on bimmers, but I ended up with Kemper and got better coverage with less money. Also have my homeowner's with them, which knocks off another 10%.
