The m5 sounds the way it does because its a low displacement, high revving v-10. v8's with the same characteristics sound the same such as ferrari's and lambo's with v8's. If your talking about 550i/545i v8 its gonna be throaty almost no matter what you do

First.. I knew you'd say something like this!! I am going to Europe this summer for a few months travelling, so i dont know if buying it makes financial sense. I have to evaluate that and see where i want to allocate my finances!! EUROPE IS EXPENSIVE. Why dont you as an experienced M5 owner find me a sick deal on a GT Race setup !?!?
Secondly... Im Dutch, who are alot like Jews when it comes to money.. THEY DONT LIKE TO GIVE IT AWAY!!! lol
Oh and i dont think i've every heard "Aartsy Fartsy" before.. how original!

Here is a video taken last year (I think it was last winter) of my car. Make sure you listen at the :45 second mark and on. Desktop speakers give a much better sense than laptop speakers.
We took this video just after having it installed on the car, so it wasn't completely broken in yet. Also, I had my winter wheels/tires (166's and Blizzaks) on there, so no launching. I only launch on my 20's. Hahaha!

Those Eisenmann videos (not the first) are of Ed (boneheads) M5 at one of my Meets a few years ago. Keep in mind that this is the Race version and also includes Headers, going all the way back. Yes, his car did sound insane (he is now the proud new owner of a 997 Turbo ).
However, that all being said, I'm probably the only M5 in the NYC area with RPI. I've attended many, many Meets and almost all the other members have Eisenmann or Meistershaft. I have to tell you that I get more compliments and better compliments than the Eisenmann guys. Even the Eisenman guys ask me about RPI, where I got, how it gives off that sound under load and why theirs doesn't. The first thing most people say to me is that my car sounds like a Ferrari or Lamborghini and that the Eisenmann is just loud and doesn't have much definition. Personally, I like that.
In the end, I think it's personal preference, but I have all 3 sections of RPI's set-up on my M5 and absolutely love it. It's pure sex.
I should also mention that prior to RPI, I had a Supersprint exhaust on my M5. It wasn't much better than stock, but then again, that was their street version, not race.
I highly recommend RPI.
Now here's my question to you Aartsy Fartsy - Is this thread decision going to take another year and many of the same posts or are you just going to pull the trigger and make a decision?!?!?!?!?!
