Maybe manufactured in 05, but released in 06?

I have a December 05' Production e60 M5.

From my experience with reading blogs is that there is not much wrong with these cars that wont be covered under your warranty and within the warranty period. I've heard of some SMG problems, but couldnt answer for sure.

What is he asking for it? Has the car taken any maintenence beyond your general wearable items?

Could be an '05 as in some countries cars are given the MY designation of when they were manufactured/registered/plated (e.g., UK, HK). In those markets, you'll also find '03 e60s.

OP: Please list where you are. Thanks.

As appealing as this car is, with that many miles, warranty winding down and other lower mileage M5's available, I'd opt against it!

If you know the car and are friends with the owner and are still asking this question,.............then you have your answer.

Yes in Europe, the E60 M5 came out as a 2005 model year.

My suggestion to the OP is if you know the car and the current owner well and believe that it was well maintained then you should be set but check to see if their extended warranty (if they had one) would carry over to you or not. These cars can get pretty pricy to maintain/fix after the warranty is over.
