Well its come to that time where I'm out of warranty and out of maintenance. So this brake job is on me. What are some options we have? Has anyone else gotten to this point yet and not broke the bank? Should I go to an indy shop? or the dealer since they love me so much...

rear needs to be done soon. Really wish someone would post up a slightly used BBK right about now lol.

yep, although I don't know if I should stick with OEM or go with a BBK.

Trying to figure out the price difference.

A full brake job would consist of new pads, rotors and brake pad sensors in addition to a fluid flush.

To the OP, I would suggest checking out Stoptech's OE replacement offerings if you don't want to go BBK, you can find more info in the below link.

https://5series.net/forums/topic/110...-product-line/

Otherwise, for BBK you can go with Brembo or StopTech.

Feel free to PM me if you'd like pricing on either

buy your rotors at getbmwparts.com and buy your pads at http://www.livermoreperformance.com

The above 2 online stores offers the cheapest price. Those are the 2 stores where I ordered from with no problems.

BMW OEM rotors with Porterfield R4S brake pads for street driving. This is the combo I am using, by far the cheapest and best combo for the street.

Thanks, anyone have a DIY link for a brake job on these? Contemplating just doing it myself since I have a couple days off, are any special tools needed or is it similar to any other brake job?

a brake job on the m5 is the same as any other cars. u need some ratchets, sockets and most importantly a brake piston reset tool that should cost no more than 30-40bucks.

what rotors and pads did u end up getting?
