Very true.. I rarely see an M5 on the roads round by me, so I make up for it by making some noise when I'm out in mine.
I think you're right though, us Brits, or certainly speaking for myself, tend to keep our E60s vitrually stock in terms of the appearance. I personally don't like my cars to look anything different to how the manufacturers intended them to look .. the only thing I change are my wheels. However, I haven't changed them on the M as yet. Will be the first car I've ever owned that I haven't changed the wheels on. Having said that, some of the external mods for the E60 M5 are REALLY nice. And, if I keep the car long enough, I may look at seeing if I can make her a llittle more aggressive.

I'm 32 (was 31 when I bought it), and thought I was pretty young for a Brit E60 M5 owner .. but 23 takes it

I'm in Leicester. I read about the RPI exhaust, they're loud! Are u having the full system? Do they have dealer over here? Let me know when you have them fit.
Cool, yeah the RPI is loud, and also adds some good power. Yes i will be going for the full system. They don't have a dealer over here bud, but speak to Nerwyll aka Nerweezy or Tony from Trinity. Great people, and immensely helpful and knowledgable. I will let you know bro!

JayEll, sorry to steal the age from you!!

Adam, you're right mate! Very soon!!

Are we boring or conservative? I've seen a lot of M5 on the road, but never seen one with funky boot spoiler, roof spoiler, special wheels, lower suspension, etc that most of our friends over the pond have in their M5. Even mine is a pure stock with only factory options. Worst of all, most of the M5s I saw were driven by people that are in their 50s, and they drive like a granny. The other day, I saw one which was driven at around 25mph in a 40 zone, no one dare to over take in case the driver put his foot down. I felt ashamed to have the same car as his. I'm 35, am I among the youngest? I ain't a boy racer, but still love to push the car when the condition is allowed or have a traffic light grand prix!
I push it above the traffic limits, its the "Ultimate Driving Machine" aint it!? Should be driven like one if it is! If I was pushing the ///M5 I wouldn't be able to keep the acceleration pedal of the floor! If the road and conditions allows why not!

Now that I think about it "Boring M5 Owner" is a bit of an oxymoron.

Hey all I've just joined the forum.

I'm also in UK, Southampton. I'm 36 so still think of myself as young!

I've just ordered RPI scoops and Pulleys. There is an RPI dealer here in UK. CA Automotive in Portsmouth. http://www.ca-automotive.co.uk/home.php

They've been REALLY great and helpful for me. Jon M5 I'd LOVE to meet have a look at your car and hear what it sounds like sometime!
