This story is like a virus. heard about it on another forum.

I like the new BMW S1000RR but I have no love for the cars. maintence cost way to high!

No love for your fellow canadians huh, or maybe too much.

Over here in the US that shit would never stick.

By HIS posts HE made himself public.
By HIS bragging HE wanted the publicity.
By HIS continuing HE wanted all and any reactions he could get.
By HIS responding HE was told his past and future actions had consequences.
By HIS repeated details HE wanted the consequences.

He got everything HE wanted.

No one "ratted" him out - HE put himself out.
No one "convicted" him without evidence - HE pled.

Can anyone say with any level of certainty that he would have stopped on his own before someone ELSE was hurt?
What if one contact by anyone prevented a repeat of a similar incident where five teenagers died on the airstrip?

Reporting illegal and dangerous activity isn't inappropriate and distasteful.
It's HIS acts and attitude that are condemnable.

I'm not advocating what he did at all,
but you forgot:

By SOMEONE ELSEs CALL the cops got onto him.
and how would you know that by his "repeated details HE wanted the consequences"?
No one wants consequences.

Was his driving reckless and dangerous? Yes
Did someone NEED to report him from this forum to get him caught? NO

that's a hypothetical assumption that some are not comfortable and one person specifically was not willing to leave to chance.

the same question could be asked then by your hypothetical reasoning: did someone have to die before he stopped?

"No one wants consequences."
With respect ... consequences are what everyone wants most of the time they act or speak. Otherwise ... there's no reason to do much of anything.

As far as the person here he actively wanted people to respond. From his first post - "Going 140 km/h on a 40 zone" - to his asking questions of other members to his subsequent bragging and detailed portrayal of his further activities ... yes, definitely, he wanted reactions/consequences/responses.

Does anyone really believe he'd drive like that - and then report the details as he did - if he were always on a completely deserted road, and/or there was no "thrill" of danger or getting caught, and/or there were no audience online to post his exploits to? And much of this even after he'd had one problem and been warned by many members?

He may not have wanted to end up with the ultimate consequence that he received but as many here posted for months ... when someone starts down a path he or she can't choose to adopt or deny the results.
Peace.
