I don't have an M5, but I have a Jet Black E60 and have black grills. LOVE them. I get compliments and stares ALL the time.

My Ride: E60 M5, F85 X5M
I had painted my kidneys all black on my black 545 but on the M5, I decided to only paint the rings black and keep the slats chrome. At a glance, it looks like the slats are black chrome. Here's a picture of someone else's M5 that gave me the idea:

Havent seen too many of those M5's with blacked grills.... dang it...
Im also wondering if it would contrast with the silver M5 Gills, and yes I like them silver!
