My Ride: '06 M5 Silver/Grey BLK, HUD, SMG, fully Loaded...RPI Scoops Red, Block Off Plates, BMC Filters. Hyper Silver Painted Wheels, RPI Full GTS Exhaust
Default

Hi all,

Im going to order some small mods, nothing crazy but had some questions if anyone has the same. Im going to get the following -

-RPI Scoops
-K&N Filters
-RPI Block Off Plates
-RPI Pulley

Will these basic adds mess or thru up any computer errors? will the pulley affect the alternator charge? or mess with the car in anyway? Just want to make sure I dont open a can of worms. I want to get some more highway pull and mid range - all your feedback is appreciated.!

I don't own an M5 but these are all very basic mods that should not give you any problems.

And if you want more pull definitely get the full blown RPI exhaust and an ECU remap.

An M owner with these mods will probably chime in.
If not just try searching the forum for bolt on mods for the M5. It's definitely been covered.

I have all those mods (and more), RPI is top notch in my book. However, I strongly recommend you put some sort of exhaust to release that Euro Supercar sound that your V10 wants to provide. My 2 cents.

Those are well regarded mods that many members with M5s have. Any thought of going whole hog and getting the RPI headers (which I believe give you the biggest single power gain of the bolt on mods), RPI full race exhaust (power gain and a very loud, aggressive sound) and RPI oil cooler?

Thanks for all your feedback! I really appreciate it, I def thought of the RPI headers and exhaust. But 7K for the headers? not installed? Wow thats high - I have to make a choice, Headers for my M5 or for 7K I can get a whole Pro Charger kit installed on my Camaro for that price. Is it worth it for just RPI section 2 and 3?

Keep your fingers crossed for Lakers to win tonight, since that changes costs.
