Also, unlike the OP's current Acura, the M5 will appreciate over time. They are special cars that are not sold in enough quantities, they are a collector car of the future, so it is a great investment as well.
i don't know about that...... I highly doubt that this car will actually go up in value......Maybe if it isn't driven and stored for 30-40 years.. But how could you let a driving machine like that sit..
Sounds like a great deal if the mileage is low, and the condition is good.
Jump on it or pass it on to one of us!!

And if you're not going through with the deal, get the specs from your friend and post them (color, options, mileage, history). I know several people looking for M5s.

KBB says $53k retail. I'm assuming this is your best friend in the world, at the same time, not sure why you can't ask him the questions posted.
I'd run the carfax/autocheck and understand the import process before I did anything.
I have trust issues. Good luck!

Hi all,
I was told by a friend of mine that his friend has an 07 M5 for sale, for 40 grand US in Chicago (he said its an immediate sale since he's leaving the country soon, and hence the relatively low price). I thought it was really a good deal considering the age (isn't it?), and I was always a fan of the current 5 series...was considering a 535xi or 550i for a while. I'm not too sure about the mileage on it though, heard it's pretty low....but it's something I'll definitely have to check.
There are a few concerns sorta holding me back however:
1. Would I feel too hard or bumpy on it driving on normal roads? (at normal speeds around town, say 50 to 70 km/h)
2. I live in Canada so there might be some more work required to bring it into the country (mph to kph conversion on the speedometer, new registration, emissions or safety test maybe?, etc) .
3. Maintenance - I currently own an 05 Acura TL, not exactly a cheap car but still not in the same league as the M5 for sure, so I'm concerned of how much increase in the maintenance cost (regular maintenance, parts, insurance, gas, etc) I should roughly expect. Are E60s, specifically M5's reliable enough? This is probably my biggest concern making me reconsider.
4. I believe the new 5-series is coming out in a year or so (and I'm guessing the M5 should be out like a year after right?), so this somewhat holds me back too.
I would really appreciate if any of you could advise me on these and help me make a good decision I won't regret
(But again these would most likely depend on the approximate mileage on it :S it should also be accident free but I'll check these asap)
Thanks!!
