2007 BMW DINAN M5
California-based BMW tuning meister, Steve Dinan takes his time to perfect his work. That?s why his latest creation, has taken more than a year to develop. But the end result is nothing less than explosive. Packing 600-plus hp. This is the most powerful street car Dinan has produced to date. Dinan takes BMW?s bulletproof 5.0-liter V-10 from the E60 M5 and bolts on high-flow throttle bodies, and a free-flow exhaust. The result is a step up from the stock M5?s500 bhp to staggering 600-plus bhp. Zero-to-60-mph sprinting should be around 3.7 seconds with a top speed of 209 mph. The package also includes a beefed-up suspension, new 19-inch alloys, Brembo rotors, and wristthick sway bars. The total package costs around $70,000 plus the price of an E60 M5. But that?s the price of power. www.dinancars.com

$70k on top of the money already spent on the M5? WOWZA!

ECF, you're gonna need to sell the WRP5 and then some before getting the boss's stamp of approval on that mod! Haha.

That excerpt seems misleading because it sounded like they only changed out the throttle bodies and exhaust but it's actually a stroker engine bored out to 5.8L I believe. The engine work itself is around $45K but you still have to spend another $20K+ on other mods like the throttle bodies, exhaust, brakes..etc... to get the power to about 620hp+. That's how you get to the $70K price.

I like Dinan but if I had the extra cash, I'd go with the RDSport RS56 motor conversion which puts out 648hp and I think the cost is "only" around $50K. This is the same motor that is being used in the Fisker Coachbuild car Latigo CS based on the M6.
