when i come to a complete stop and take off normally in 1st gear, it kind of slips and then regains power again. I thought this was normal then i drove my friends M5 and it shifts better than mine and felt much better in 1st gear. His car has over 70k compared to mine which has 44k. i was wondering if maybe its time to replace my clutch. So my next question is , will the dealer r eplace the clutch under warranty since it still has warranty for another 6k miles. it shifts pretty smooth in all the other gears except in 1st

i doubt that they would, instead would give you a run around and maybe the most might bs you about reprograming the computers or so. Unless you really keep complaining to the dealer and act twist the story a lil bit like it doesn't move at all sometime in first gear and sometimes randomly slips like crazy. It is on and off situation. You really gotta dig deep and annoy them about it.. Still its a tuff cookie. They dun like to touch nething unless it forsure screwed up.
gud luck

Just curious, have you tried the reset procedure?

I have experienced some rougher shifting in first as well. Such as in and out of N to 1st at a stop light... Im noticing some of the same similar traits you have explained but it doesnt seem like it s a clutch problem just rather how i am approaching taking off..

Smooth and steady on the accelerator i find helps this. But will definetly try a reset.

To this point i havent had it bad enough to worry about, as i find the car shifts rough to begin with ( which is normal )

i was pretty sure it was normal too, until i drove my friends m5 and it shifted better than mine. im not too worried about it though , my only concern is that the warranty is gonna run out in 6k miles. i was hoping maybe i could get the dealer to replace the clutch under warranty. wishful thinking i guess
