Looking at an out of province M5 being sold by a dealer and it says it has the sequential M gearbox with drivelo. Is this the SMG transmission? Were there only 2 transmissions offered on the 09,true manual and SMG?
Are the 09's reliable as far as the M5 goes?It seems pretty loaded with the Executive package with HUD,NAV etc.
Thanks for any advice!

As far as the tranny is concerned. Yes those are the only two transmissions available. The SMG is very fun to drive but does take some getting used too and can be jerky if not used properly.

Thanks for the good info folks!
Keeping my eyes open for a good 09-10 and trying to decide if the stick or the SMG is best for me.Since this will be my DD and my wife is not able to drive the stick, perhaps it will be an easy decision

think of an SMG transmission as a MT where you can leave your left foot planted on the floorboard - I LOVE the SMG and will never have a MT again - and yes, your Wife will thank you for not going with a MT
