The Mfest M5 badge is nice too. Here are pics from an E39 M5,
not sure if there's a difference between this and the E60 M5 badge
as far as size goes.

How about the white/silver/black stripes with a matte black M5? Don't know if it's available though. Just thought since your wheels and exhaust tips are similar to matte black, then matte black M5 emblem would be cool and the white/silver/black stripes will complement the gray scale look.
I finally put on the white/silver/black stickers over my colored ones after it sitting in my glove box for the last six months. I had the same debate about changing the M5 to something black like the ones above but since my car is black, I figured it'd just blend in and won't be visible.
