Hey everyone just joined the site. Full disclosure - I'm working on an e63 650i but I believe my question should be relevant to everyone's experience here.
I was able to access an e63 M6 complete car with a seized motor. I'm in the process of taking all the M goodies off and installing them on my 650i (Cars are the same year, same color, built a few months apart and almost identically optioned!)
I'm in the process of swapping mirrors and have a couple questions before I keep going.
Both the M car and the 650i have the option 430 (interior and exterior mirror package). The 650i has the 431 Interior Auto Dip, although the M6 does not. The only other option difference between the two cars of meaning is that the M6 has comfort access, and the 650 does not.
Both mirrors have the 3-pin connectors, and I have the new switchplate with the button to fold the mirror.
I have installed the drivers mirror but not the passenger side. I was able to control the mirror with the d-pad and the exterior puddle light came on. So from that perspective, I'm feeling fine about the swap.
Of course, I'd like to be able to have the folding button function as well. Most of the coding instructions I have seen are to be able to retrofit cars that didn't have the 430 option OR were swapping between years. All I want to do is enable the button to fold the mirrors.
Anyone have an idea how to code this? Thanks in advance!

I am not 100% sure if the folding mirrors are hard wired or controlled by a module. Hook them up and see if they work. If they do not you need to modify your VO, which should enable the feature in the module that controls the mirrors. You can also verify by looking at the wiring diagrams to verify if the folding feature is triggered by 12V or CAN bus signal. CAN bus wires are labeled as such in the wiring diagrams.

If both mirrors are the 3 pin then yes it should work.
You would just need to add the code $430 to the VO then recode the CAS/LMA. Then you will need set the features in the CAS/KGM coding files to active.
I added folding/exterior LED mirrors to my car

Can you share more details on the steps? I know roughly what to do (I coded AUX into my car) but I'm a bit nervous just winging it.
