All, just installed the SprintBooster on my 2008 535 and it ROCKS!! An absolute amazing difference in throttle response!! Well worth the $$'s and this is how BMW should have programed the car from the factory!! Before the SB, the initial acceleration was a bit lazy, vague, etc., until you built up the RPM's. Now it accelerates with a purpose and responds much quicker - especially in the lower RPM range. I noticed the accelerator responds more quickly across the entire RPM range as well. To me this car is actually easier to drive now as I can feel the clutch release and accelerator interaction much better - no more "vague, slushy" response...EXCELLENT mod!!!

By the way...there is no "tucking the SB module under the carpet" in the US version....I have it mostly hidden along the side of the accelerator pod.

Of course it does. It's made for either an auto tranny or a manual. Doesn't matter what kind of model BMW.

Could you get me more information on this? Is it available in Europe? Costs? bhp, torque advantages?

There was a group buy that has now expired - in that buy it was going for $250.00 (IIRC). I think now you would be more in the $300.00 (USD) range? Also, this mod is not about adding hp or torque...but about removing the built in delay in the "throttle by wire" system that auto manufacturer's program in the system. The SB "intercepts" the throttle input signal and modifys it (makes it more agressive) then sends it along to the ECU. Result is the car accelerates like it should across the RPM range, crisply. It's hard to explain, but it is similar to installing underdrive pullies on an American V8 engine...the pullies only add a few hp, but their lighter weight allows the engine to accelerate throught the RPM range quicker...which, in turn, makes the engine feel peppier, more alive, etc.

You can spend a lot more $$'s on other mods, but this is well worth the $300.00. As a matter of fact, if you purchase one and don't like it - I'm sure C's Bimmer would buy it form you

Gosh it sure is fun spending C's $$'s

LOL! This sounds exactly like the SB thread I started a few months back. I'm glad you like it.

Sure C... ...just like you to jump in and try and claim credit JK - thanks for steering me in the right direction

Even though I have the manual tranny, I believe I read in one of the SB posts to order the auto version as the manual version of the SB was too sensitive? Anyone comment on this? I am running the auto version SB on my manual and it works fantastic!!

I will PM you the guys email address tomorrow. This is where we got our SB for $250 on the Group Buy a few months back. His name is Andy and the company is PartsExporter. He's a really nice guy. He is also on eBay too with the SprintBooster. I believe he wants $300 on his eBay store. However, if you email him I think he'll do it for $280 shipped. Just tell him you're a member on here and that you missed the group buy.

And as an FYI, he shipped my SB out on a Saturday. I had it in my hands, in my office by 10am that Monday morning. Yes, within 2 days!!! Did I mention he's in Hong Kong and I'm in NYC?? Yes, it was that fast!

You should be able to find a vendor in Europe for the SB because it's actually from a Greek company:

Ok thanks guys for the quick response, but is it really worth it on 'just a 525i' in contrast with the response on a V8

I don't have the V8 and I love it.
