xi lowering long term

My Ride: Carbon black m sport package 535xi. Natural brown interior with black diamond trim. Dinan stage 2.

Anyone out there want to comment if they have a 535xi that has been lowered. Just wondering what the long term affects (springs or coilovers) have been. Rubbing, sqeaking etc... . my dealership say it is not wise to lower an xi. what do you all think?

lots of members have done it without any faults, just one thing that draws back is you loose comfortability so you want want to get coilovers but still loose comfortability but not as much, members for one ex: white535xi is lowered

Bro, don't even worry about - drop it like it. is. hot.

Two ways to do it:

1. KW v3 coilovers

2. H&R short springs

H&R drop does not have a matching set of dampers available in the States, hence everyone just drops it on stock dampers. There are European-market Bilstein B8 dampers that will work with these shorter springs though.

From what I read here the B6 fits the 528xi & 530xi and the B8 fits the 525xi & 535xi.

I'm lost ... why does it matter? Could you pls elaborate 'bout the shock shaft height diff...

Are you thinking of due to lower spring on H&R using stock shock then there's some free gap (essentially where the 'lowering' takes place) where the spring can wobble/rotate so to compensate it is by using shorter shaft shock?
