From my experience, your aftermarket xenon kit will not work right in a non hid e60. The car senses less power draw and will shut down power to the lights. It will work fine if engine is off, but once you turn the engine than it will start strobing than shut down. Damn BMW making it hard for aftermarket electronics to be installed.

Thanks for your email
The X5 will work on your car and get over the bug that BMW put in that shuts most ballassts down when the engine is running. However you may need a relay/resistor fix to overcome a bulb alarm when the lights are off. I can supply these for 19.99

The universal kit will also work on your car without the need for the relays/resistor and its only 219.99

I don't understand your point that the car shuts down the power to the lights I do understand that as xenon draws less power the 'bulb out warning light' would come on while the lights are on is this what you mean but as you can see from Hids4u that they have overcome this problem
