Hello everyone,

I just received my Xenon bulbs and Kit from XenonKing.com. The xenon is great, light is great, but the packaging is not convincing at all. So i did some more research on McCulloch products, and came out with four different packaging with the same brand. I called back the xenon king and they said their product is genuine made in Japan. But i found one website that has more convincing packaging www.mchid.com . Today I installed the 8000k into my friend's clk500 because my car was in service. I post some real picture of the 8000k v.s Oem. What is your experience with aftermarket XENON HID ? Do you think this is genuine McCulloch or i got a fake product that is made in Taiwan ? . IS there any DIFFERENCE ?

Here is what i think the real genuine McCulloch HID Kits & Bulb :
http://www.mchid.com/

And, here (the 1st&2nd pic) is what i got today from xenonking :

Another different packaging of McCulloch (you'll see -White Intensity Discharge System on the box) (6th pic)

And here what i found another McCulloch product on ebay (7nd picture) or :
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/10000K-McCu...016223000QQrdZ1

The last one might be different product name, but it was under McCulloch on ebay... I just don't wont to get fake product, and need your help... thank youu...

I really want to install Xenon kit on my E60, but there are a few things that I am afraid of:
1. High Initial drawn current 20+ Amps
2. Current stock wire might not be able to handle that much of current
3. Blind upcoming traffic due to reflector lense. Don't use D2S, use D2R which is for reflector. D2S is for ellipsoid projector.

Let me know what you find out.

I just check on item #2, and wire gauge is OK which is 2.5mm for both Xenon and non-Xenon on E60.

From my experience, your aftermarket xenon kit will not work right in a non hid e60. The car senses less power draw and will shut down power to the lights. It will work fine if engine is off, but once you turn the engine than it will start strobing than shut down. Damn BMW making it hard for aftermarket electronics to be installed.

I don't think the car's computer will "shut down" the power to the light source. Member soc_fans has aftermarket HID installed for his fog lights. The car does give a burned bulb warning because of the different current but apparently, if he turns on his fog lights before he starts the car, the computer doesn't detect the differences in current draw and the warning light doesn't appear. That said, I'm not sure if it's different when you do the low beams.

Thanks for the info, I just ordered a set of HIDs for my fog light, I will keep the procedure in mind when switching on the fog.

Not only BMWs are hard to work with when it comes to aftermarket lighting, same as Mercedes. My wife's car, which is a 06 CLK, has a set of HIDs installed by dealer, and when we turn the headlights on while engine's running, the damn thing goes off and on til the car is moving. Either I will have to take it out or send it back to dealer to have the problem fixed, which I doubt the dealer knows how to fix it.
