ANY PICTURES FROM INSIDE THE TRUNK AREA,HOW DID YOU MOUNT THAT?COULD YOU PM ME A.S.A.P ON HOW TO DO THAT SETUP,PLEASE!
you can make box that will fit both side of trunk and put bracket on them to not make it move... or you can put sub on back panel and put support brace on the bottom but having box is better and secured since most subs are heavy and can break the brace..
Honestly if you get a right setting with right power you do not need to cut the hole....

For a subwoofer i would get a class D rockford amp, might be a little expensive but they are built to last. I went through one audiobahn and two directed audio amp's in about a year and then spent more and got the rockford, and it hasnt gone wrong once in 2 and a half years.

Rockford makes good amps except i dont like the fact that they are big.... really big.... that is the reason why i like alpine... so tiny and has lots of power...
also pdx 1.600 is 600w rms for both 2 ohm and 4ohm unlike other brand where 4 ohm rms watts are much lower than 2 ohm

+1 I think Rockford Fosgate or PPI (Percision Power Inc) make some of the best amps! Cant go wrong with either of those brands for bass amps!
if you shop around specially on the car audio forums youll be surprised on the deals to be had. check this out, i got this zapco amp, that has a built in dsp fro $400 shipped brand new in box. check the retail. http://zapco.com/prod/DC_Ref/DC_7502Frame.htm
I refuse to put anything cheap on a bmw, we drive the best, why not get the best audio components for them.

I'm not looking to spend 300+ on amp
I thought you said the MONO MRP-M500 would over power the JL audio 10W3v3-4
should I get a lower powered amp?

Wow, your knowledge in amps is very limited. how can you say that RF make some of the best amps? as far as i know they one of the worst. have you heard of tru tech, audison, zapco, arc audio, sinfoni, genesis.

I am glad you said it so I did not have to. Lets face it you drive a car that stickers anywhere from 55k-68k and you would put cheap audio in it. Would you put the cheapest "quality tires on you car"? But I also realize that audio is not that big of a deal for some as it is for me so I guess I have to respect that. But really you drive a Bimmer not a GM.

Pay attention to the writing before you try to call someone out. Its not like I told the guy to go out and buy a Sony or Kenwood amp. Certain manufacturers make certain things better then others, which is why a good audio system is usually a compliation of different brands. I was commenting on whether or not they make good bass amps and they do, period!

Sorry bud, once upon a time I was a mobile electonrics installer and I am MECP certified still and yes I have heard of most of the brands mentioned above, however for price point and bass response I still stand by my statement. I didnt say they were the only top two brands, if you read my statement before you question me and show your ingnorance, I said, "+1 I think Rockford Fosgate or PPI (Percision Power Inc) make some of the best amps!" Key word being SOME, just my personal and professional opinion.

Thank god you didnt say you used to compete .i guess you can get away saying RF and PPI make some of the best amps on this board because we dont have that many car audio enthusiast, i dare you to say that in a car audio forum. Back in the day RF used to make decent equipment. now all they make is junk. their asking prices for some of their amps is ridiculous.

nelson u need 2relax buddy, thats the point this isnt a car audio forum, people on here dont compete. While i do agree there is better amps out there, to get something with similar output from genesis or audison or zapco is going to cost alot more than a rockford or ppi. Ive tried alot of class d amps, i used to have a genesis, and i still think the rockford power .bd range are great amps for the power and price.
