Check out the do it yourself forum. Apparently this is an easy project to just do yourself... That being said, I havne't tried it yet!

At Circle BMW (http://www.circlebmw.com/parts/acc.htm) the parts are $128.00 & $116.00 (don't remember which one is which)

Im just curious here. Why does everyone quote circle BMW and refer to their web page? They are my dealer and they are outstanding when it comes to service, but when someone from CA refers to their site it just makes me wonder.

I ordered mine from bmwpartsman on this forum and got a resonable price and he was GREAT to work with. I tried to order some additional pieces from him, but never heard back, so he may have stopped visiting the forum. Anyway, the wood gear shift replacement is literally a "pull straight up as hard as you can" replacment. I have heard that technicians have truly broken their nose by not being careful and being in the wrong spot, but I was able to just pull mine off with a LOT of pressure. Then you put the new one in place, and POP it down, it takes less than a minute. Regarding the brake....never done it.

Sure it was Circle? Thats the prices I had quoted to everyone on here a long time ago. They could be offering them for that price as well.
