The price of 19" snow tires alone will cost almost as much as an entire wheel/tire/TPMS setup from tirerack on 18" aftermarket's, so I say go with the full winter plan.

You will get much better performance from winter tires plus you get two different looks for your car. 18" also gives you a bit more sidewall for seasonal potholes.

Its not even a question for me......I would go with the 18 set up, with some simple easy to clean wheels. You dont want to be rolling around snow filled dirty streets with your 166's. Think about all the road grime and mag cloride they spread on the streets to keep the roads from icing.
However I went this route instead sometime ago........I have a used 4runner i purchased here in CO for like $1500 that I use when it snows. I tell you that thing is a tank, had it for 3 years, and the engine is bullet proof I tell ya. Although its not as eye catching at my 5'er or as fun to drive, I have the sense of security that no knuckle head is gonna slide into me when its nasty out. My last car was an Audi A4 quattro and you never saw me driving it when it was icey....it was just too risky from other drivers.
But if you must get the 18" package
