Am I missing something or can they not be moved away from the car to remove ice and snow(for those of us lucky enough to experience this winter treat).
I tried last night and they appear to be locked

They do pull away but are a bit stiff, use a little bit more force.

They do only come about 15cm off the screen though

+1 on it being a little stiff, but they do pull away..

Watch out though, someone posted that their kid pulled too hard and ripped it off..

This is worth repeating...since you will be trying this with added force...the wipers do NOT come up very far, but enough to clean the windshield.

Be careful sounds like there frozen ! Put some hot water over them.

Hmmm...I don't know from personal experience...but almost EVERYBODY says hot water on a frozen windshield is a HUGE mistake...as in it can crack the windshield. I can definitely see how that would cause an existing chip in the windshield to spread. And just because someone did it, and it caused no problems...doesn't mean that it might not crack it the very next time. Anyway...I would NOT do that!
