Thanks!
In NJ this would be a "glass / comprehensive" claim - no points and a low deductible - usually $100.

But you're in $alifornia ... let us know how it goes for you!

The BMW shop broke my windshield when they were making other repairs on the pillar air bag after my accident. After it was replaced I had a horrible whistle from the wind that drove me nuts until i tracked it down to the windshield.

I was driving it to another dealer to trade it when I figured out it was the windshield making the noise.

I think it's just polarized - like anti-glare sunglasses. Doubt it's available in the States - probably some certification issue preventing us from getting yet another hot feature. Could be that HUD-equipped windshields all look like this, I'd check if I were you

PS those wheels are hotness... NOOOOOT! More like HOT-NOTNESS!

My previous e60 - had it not even a month when a truck kicked up a rock right into my windshield. It cracked the inside layer but not the outside glass. Go figure. The inside crack was about 2". I filed a claim and Safelite did the replacement. They picked up a windshield from my local BMW dealer and used that - but I had to bring the car to their shop. They didn't want to do it onsite by me. No deductible and my rates didn't go up. I got very lucky.

Let us know how it turns out for you. Good luck.
