My Ride: '04 530. Black on Black Black Grills Tint Ipod Retrofit June '10
Default

I have a meeting tonight with my tinter. I have been searching the forums for Jet Black E60's with various "flavors" of tint. Please post up your pics and %'s so I can get some final ideas. I was thinking 35% or 30% all the way round, but could be pursuaded to other levels. Your help will help put me over the edge.

THANKS

Thanks! That is a lot lighter than I expected it to be. Might have to rethink 30%...

I just got mine done 30% all around. I've pulled up next to CHP a few times now and haven't had any mean looks. I was told by the tint shop that 30% is the borderline 'legal' that you can use for privacy and UV protection. Looks clean with black on black. Hope this helps!

I have 35% all the way around I love it everything is still very visible at night in terms of looking outside, and I haven't had any issues with police yet (knock on wood). Plus with the sun shades in the rear works perfect for those highways drives when my daughter wants to keep the sun off of her.

jay when you are getting tint there is something you need to consider. What color is your interior? If it is black your tint will look darker. if it is light it will look different. You can look at my AW, i have 20% all around, nothing on the windshield.

i have 20 on my windows like i said and when i back up at night its hard to see. keep this is mind too. sometimes when i get nervous i open my door or roll down my window!!

with all this said: i wouldnt change my tint. i like it

I ended up going with 35% all the way round, but the front. 15% was the next step down, and was to dark. With a black car and a black interior I could not go that dark. All my other tinted cars are 35%, but that tint is also like 5-10 years old. I will have pics tonight..... Finally I will get to share the new car....her first public appearance..

I Agree with everything Alpine Girl said. I have the exact same set up and love it. Here in Colorado we have 331 days of sunlight each year and I am at 6,000 feet so lots of sun. Also I put on a bra and love it. Does not show with AW like it does with darker colors. Good luck.
