My Ride: 2008 550i, Sport Package, Cold Weather Package, Nav, Jet Black, natural brown interior, automatic, Logic 7, ipod, lane departure warning.
Just got my windows tinted yesterday from Joe at The Tint Shop in Great Neck, NY. Did a good job. I noticed on small imperfection on a window, and he immediately retinted the window. Nice guy and price was great - $239 for entire car. Will post some pics. Only problem is that I think I went too dark at 35%. What do you guys have on your rides?

I got 35% as well and when I first saw the car it looked really dark to me too, I actually went back into the store and had the guy come and make sure that they had put the right tint % on. My black interior and sun shades also add to the darkness of the tint, but I love the look and (knock on wood) so far no troubles with the police.

I did 35% and it's perfect. It's what I do on all my cars. 20% is too dark. That's what polesmoker did on his car...I mean poleposition.
50% is way too light. At that point, you might as well not even tint your windows.

I did 40%. it looks darker when the sun is hitting the car. best way to gauge it is to look through the car in the shade, or at night. 35% is fine IMO, I got 40 because Huper Optik came in 30% or 40% and I'm getting too old for 30% and night driving.

I actually have 5% on the back windows and 30% on the front two windows. Then again in Arizona, you want to keep the sun out of your car unless you want it to be an oven every time you're getting back into it.

No such thing as too dark. Fat ass did 35% because he has a black interior. I did 20 on sides and 5 in rear and I like it.
Oh, and the tint shop in Great Neck is awesome. I used to go there with every car I've ever owned til this one. Joe is a good guy
