Actually that looks like limo tint which is 5%. The percentage corresponds to the amount of light it lets through. A 5% tint will only allow 5 % of the light to pass through, and looks Very Dark. A 35% Tint will allow 35% of the light to pass through, and will look lighter, etc.

In Calif. the front windows can only be 70% or more which is essentially clear.
I've seen 40-45% in front (good until you get sited) and 25-30% in rears looking like a good combo. Not too dark, not too light.

My Ride: 2005 530i, Jet Black, Black Leather, Automatic, Cold Weather, Sirius Prep and Radio, Premium Package, Xenon Lights.
I think some of us aren't using the % properly. Above, I've seen the % refer to the translucency, and others use it for opacity.
Which is it?
Would 100% be total black, or absolutely no tint?
