On the M5 166 wheels, can you fit a 245/40/19 at ALL 4 corners? Or is 255 the minimum on this wheel, due to the width?

What about the rears? It makes sense that the fronts would work, since the width is minimal against a 255 width on the M5 tire. However, my concern is now the rear. Since my rear is a 285, would a 245 be too thin? i do know that 255 will work at all 4 corners though. Hmmm...

you can go 295 for the rears. 295/30/20 or 295/30/19 without rubbing.

does anyone read? hahahahaha!

i'm asking if 245/40/19 will fit in the rear of the M5 166 wheels. i'm prepping my 166's for my winter wheel set-up. that's why im wondering if 245's will work in the rear. i know 255's will, but wondering if 245's will as well.

anyone know?

why wouldnt it work... you can put on all 4 spare donuts if you want!!

i dont think you will have a problem with the tire fitting the wheel... its such a small width your talking about from 245 to 255.

huh? what do the doughnuts have to do with anything that i'm asking about????

well, 255 is pushing it in the rear, but it works. however, i'm not sure if 245 will be too thin. although the difference is minimal, the rear wheel itself, is wider than the front wheel. that said, i jsut want to make sure i won't encounter any issues. we all know what a few mm can mean, so i just need to make sure it will work.

this is for my winter set-up. 245's come with the tire i want. 255's come in the tire of my second choice. i'm trying to stick with my first.

C,
I wouldn't do it. It's highly unlikely that 245/40/19 tires will fit on the rear 9.5x19 wheels. It's not worth the risk to find out. Go with the 255.

Why such a push on 245 width? It should fit with no problem. But I don't think fit is the issue here. If I understand you correct, you're more concerned about the 245-width not being wide enough... IMHO, 245 on all fours should be no problem, depending on the rim width, but it will be THIN. 8.5 width is the max I would go for a 245.

Thanks Joe. That's my concern. I guess I'll just go with the Blizzak LM-22's then. I wanted to do the LM-25's, but they come in a 245/40 or a 255/35. I'm not so keen on running a 35 profile for a winter tire. I want more rubber on the sidewall for winter.
