The actual M5 front bumper will not fit on the e60 as the m5 front fenders are wider. So, unless you plan on changing the fenders, you are better off going with the Mkit. Also, the M5 front end does not have the provisions for the fog/driving lights.

The rear bumper will fit, however there is two cutouts for the exhaust. The problem I believe, which I have not verified is that the cutouts for the pipes are different spacing than what would work on a non-M5 due to the spare tire well.
Correct! And from my experience i never seen an e60 fitted with rear M5 bumper and then modded to quad exhaust. Don't think it has enough clearence for the piping because of the spare tire. It's too difficult and not to mention if it's that much functional or performance wise.

Hi all I was wondering if I can buy the OEM M5 front bumper and fit it to the 05 545i I'm rolling cause some idiot scratched the stock front bumper while they were parking I guess so I went to a body shop and they quoted me 1K for the Mtech front installed and painted because they said the brackets aren't the same or some mess but I figure it should fit the because the M5 isn't any more wider then the 545 right ? soI was wondering if I can just get the real M5 front bumper because I like it better does anyone know for sure?
YES, if you buy all the necessary parts along with the bumper and if you cut a little the under the fender plastic domes.
The stock bumper is wider compairable to the M at these points (in front of the wheels, where the bumper's mounting points are)

Well, I don't know if you're still interested in puting an M5 front bumper on or not, sounds like the general opinion here is that it's a bad idea. I personally think it could look bad ass. There's actually another post about the front bumper that I saw. It's by Luminati. It's not an exact replica of the M5 but it's pretty close. As for the rear bumper, I have no clue, the bumper that Luminati makes looks nothing like the M5 rear bumper other than it has cutouts for 4 pipes. I'm not sure what the M-Technic would run you, but this one cost $759.99 on StrictlyForeign.com. Either way, good luck.

Well I actually like that bumper do you have any more pics by any chance? The only problem I see is that it doesn't have the holes for the PDC system.. If I can get a version for the PDC I'd buy it. Thanks for that link heiss.. I don't want to do an M5 conversion like everyone thinks I just wanted the front bumper and then I would have probably done the M tech skirts and rear. But if I have to change a whole bunch of stuff it's not worth it.I've never heard of "Luminati" does any one know how the quality is?

I don't have any other pics sorry. I'll try and look some up for you later. I have no idea how the quality is, I had never heard of Luminati either until I saw that kit when I was looking for body kits for my car. I would definitely go with another kit for the sides and rear though like you said. I think the Luminati sides and rear look pretty hideous. Try e-mailing Strictly Foreign to find out what it's made of, that should give you some idea of the quality.

Generally, I'd agree with you guys, but his current bumper is messed up so he's going to be buying a new bumper anyway. He was just wondering if it would be cheaper to get the M5 front bumper or the M-Technic since they're so close to each other anyway. I don't think he's trying to turn his 545i into an M5, he just wants the best deal for his money on a front bumper and he decided to make it stand out from stock by going with something more aggressive. And I don't know The Dons financial situation, but considering he has a 545i already, I'm sure if he wanted the M5 he would have just spent the extra 20K to begin with. I mean yeah 20K is quite a bit, but if his plan was to turn his 545i into an M5 he had to know he was going to be spending at least that much moding it.

Go with the M Tech front bumper it will fit without problems...its well documented.

This is the only other pic I could find of the Luminati kit, still not a very good pic, but this one looks like it has PDC. I've heard rumors that this kit is made of fiberglass though, which is cool if there aren't any speed bumps in your area. And if you didn't have PDC I'd say you would have to worry about curbs too, but since you do I guess you don't need to worry about those. Honestly, going with a fiberglass kit wouldn't be a half bad idea since you have PDC. Fiberglass is more rigid than most other body kit materials so all your lines would look cleaner, not too mention a body shop can always add more fiberglass if needed, they can't add plastic. But hey, I don't need to explain the ups and downs of body kit materials to the people of this forum, we all know them.
