Will E60 Stock Rims fit an E39???

I am selling my stock 17" Style 122 Rims and Tires and some guy with a 1998 540i with Sports Package and 17" wheels 20m offset would like to buy them if they will fit...does anyone know the answer???

They should fit, but you'll need hub-rings. From what I remember, the hub-bore on the E39 is 74.1mm vs. 72.56mm of the E60.

Months ago I saw an E39 with 124 wheels, so I think yes.

no, they will not fit. the E39 has larger hubs than the e60, thus E60 wheels would have to be bored out to fit an E39.

The other way around (E39 wheels on an E60) works, with the rings.

You're both correct. I read his initial post too quickly (seems to be a problem for me with the last 2 posts). I thought he was asking about putting e39 wheels on his e60, when in fact it was vice-versa...
  • e39 wheels > e60 = ok with hub-rings
  • e60 wheels > e39 = needs to be bored out to 74.1mm

definitely won't fit, e39 can fit e60 with hubcentric ring but an e60 wheel hub bore is too small for e39 hub.
