My Ride: SOLD...Jet Black 2008 550i M Sport with SAT, black interior. RPI exhaust and air scoop, 35% huper optik tint all around, CF roundels, flat black kidneys, Springfield Armory XD-40 jet black in glove box, charcoal filter removed.
Wondering if I get the Dinan stage 1 flash, with the RPI scoop and BMC filter and remove the charcoal filter - will i gain anything with the SB? I understand that the SB is just a signal amplifier, giving you in effect more throttle response with less pressure on the pedal, but doesn't Dinan Stage 1 give you better throttle response too?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Money aside for the moment, does the Dinan stage 1 software increase throttle response on its own?

the dinan ecu reflash is completely different from SB. Dinan reprograms the ecu to give you higher torque and increased HP which gives you a stronger throttle response. SB will only make the throttle lighter.
on a side note, may I suggest going with stage 2 instead of stage 1. The stage one may be too mild and harldy noticeable.

But don't you need to go with their high flow intake too with Stage 2, or will the RPI scoop and BMC filter and charcoal filter removed serve the same purpose?

I have the Dinan stage 1 and am very happy with it, especialy in the sport mode. Never installed the SB but lots of folks like it. I'm very happy with my throttle sensitivity, works in traffic and goes like hell when I hit it even half way.
