Those rims will definitely fit, front and rear.

The rears are only 9" instead of 9.5" like most E60 rears that are staggered. You would be 3mm retracted on the outside edge compared to a 167 or 166 ET17 that's 9.5".

I think those 172s look great on your car.

Ok, the followings are the offset for all wheels:

Style 124 (e60 545 550 535 sport package wheel):
Front et20 18 x 8
Rear et32 18 x 9

Style 172 (e60 550 sport package wheel):
Front et18 19 x 8.5
Rear et18 19 x 9.5

Style 166 (e60 M5 wheel):
Front et12 19 x 8.5
Rear et 28 19 x 9.5

Style 167 (M6 wheel):
Front et12 19 x 8.5
Rear et17 19 x 9.5

Style 121 (645 sport package wheel):
Front et14 19 x 8.5
Rear et14 19 x 9

Style 249 (650 sport package wheel):
Front et14 19 x 8.5
Rear et14 19 x 9

The front et14 will fit with tire size 245/35/19. Compares the 172 and 249 rear: et18 with 9.5 width and et14 with 9 width.

Will it properly fit or not????????????

Boo Gary! As nice a guy as he is, he doesn't know what he's talking about in this case. Like I said above, it's not rocket science. I've done the math, and those rims will fit real nice, no rubbing at all.

Check http://www.1010tires.com/WheelOffsetCalculator.asp if you don't believe me. Use an ET17 9.5" rear compared to your 249's 9" ET14 rear. It's already been established that the former width and offset is about the widest outward bump you can get without rubbing, on a 275 tire.

Compared to that, the rear 249 wheel would be retracted by 3mm in comparison, and your inner clearance increases also by 9mm. It will be PERFECT!

The fronts are perfect also.

I'm a whole year late to the conversation, but this is exatly what i've been looking for. Thanks DrLev99.

The 249 rims look great and they are forged alloy, not to mention easy to clean 5 spoke. But I'm torn between the 249, 172, 166 and 167 rims.

Are there any members out there that have the E60 with the 249 style rims? Any problems?

I decided to just buy the 249 rims. I had them installed and they work flawlessly. No rubbing, except for when I had the trunk loaded with my 2 oem wheels and the backseat another 2 wheels and I drove through a massive dip at a slightly faster than usual speed (didn't see it because the street was dark). Even in that situation, it was only a slight well brushing noise, nothing major.

Thanks, DrLev for doing the homework.

I'll post pics if anyone is interested.
