Could be too. take your wheel off and see what those things are stamped. Anz and I agree something is off specs wise. With 5mm spacers your about 2mm clearance in that pic

Oh and he said it's 15mm, not 14mm .

I went back to my mechanic, he said there was some adjustability in how low or high you seat the shock in the sleeve at the bottom (as opposed to the oem shock which has a notch or check in it that shows exactly where it is supposed to be seated, he showed me this)

I will check inside the wheel for offset stamp....really hope it's not the wrong offset

Based on the tire fitment I highly doubt the wheels are not 8.5" wide

Alright, so I finally got the suspension sorted and there is no more rubbing. As I mentioned before my mechanic told me there was some play in how the front coilover assembly is seated in the housing sleeve at the bottom. He said he was able to lower the coilover assembly on both sides further and this allowed for more clearance. So no more spacers required.

I always thought there were some tolerances when installing suspension bits and I guess I was right. I suppose this is why so many cars with the same parts have such different ride heights.

Anyways I am glad this turned out the way it did. And it is very useful information for anyone with similar issues

Yes it looks much better without the spacer up front, evens out the stance
