Who sells this shift knob ???
I bought that shifter from BMW of Newport. I likey! Although since its shorter it doesnt sit down all the way like the old shifter did. hence there's a smidgen of play with my shift boot as the shift knob does not sit tight enough to seal the shift boot against the shifter.

I have this shift knob, and I love it.
However, be very careful with the ordering and part numbers. I have heard that the "replacement" OEM knob shows up as an updated part number and it is identical to the one shown, except it is not shorter than what you have now. The whole reason I got this knob was for the shorter height and heavier weight. The "updated" part is the same gooseneck knob your original.
Just my .02

I don't know man, I'm thinking it's not on all the way or something. Mine fits all the way down to the boot, no problem. Will look again today to make sure but it looks completely right on mine. Are you sure it's aligned properly and it slipped into the 'notch'?
this is what Tischer BMW is sellling 60 shipped not a bad deal

BMW weighted shift knob installed:

The knob is a perfect fit. It clicks and locks into place, is about 0.8-inch shorter, and weighs in at 5.4 oz instead of the stock 3 oz. The knob and shifter boot are snug and there is no play.
Thanks to Anzafin for the idea.
