Just like the title reads....I'm looking for first hand experiences with this set of tires.
My 550 came with a set of Pirelli P Zero Nero mounted on my 172's.
I live in Toronto so winter tires are a must.
I still have a set of Michelin Pilot Alpin in 18" leftover with about 70% on them and started looking at 19" options for this winted since I didn't want to change rims. I thought I would get a second set of 172's and run them with winter rubber and also have a set for summer....172's all year round !!! yeah !!!
Here's the problem....I just recently realized that my Pirelli P Zero Nero has a little M+S on them.....so they're all seasons!
Should I ditch them all together? All season is sometimes referred to as NO Season....not great for summer performance handling and grip..not good in snow and ice!
Or can I get away with running them throughout the winter....very snowy conditions aside of course!

I live in PA and just installed these exact tires on my 05 545i with 166 (m5) 19" rims. FIrst, they look great, are incredibly quiet (like big difference compared with Contin 2's) BUT they are certainly softer. They perform well but a sumer tire is better in the curves. It snows here 3-4 times a year so I didn't want snow tires. If I were you, I'd get a dedicated set for winter and summer. I will keep these tires on come summer. I read they last a long time (20K miles plus). I got 8k out of my rear Conti's. Good luck

I've previously commented about the PZeros I had on my 740i ... I would not rely on these as a "winter tire" solution if I were driving a 550 w/sport & lived as far north as you. IMHO and based on my experience they are OK but should (only) be driven with extreme caution in moderate heavy snow or ice.

For all season driving in climates where light snow is expected, these tires perform well. I prefer the softer feel compared to RF's.
However, I wouldn't use an M+S rated tire up in Canada. I'd think there would be way too much snow and ice.

M+S is a s*hit,believe me. I live here in Germany and I think when it snows, it's like when it snows in Canada, snow is always the same 
. I had a loaner with M+S tyres in winter when there was a snowcoat of about 2-3cm. It's awful, not comparable with winter tyres. These tyres are not good in summer and not good in winter....
