I've done it all........ If anything my custom straight pipe helped it the most with better air flow throughout the whole system. Maybe I should delete one of the resonators and make it even louder.........

...but, when someone needs to complain about rough idling in the morning, he/she'd better off put back the paper OEM filter or K&N filter will be blamed for it.
HHmmmm..... my car sometimes may be a little rough, like it's burbling like a Corvette/Viper (because of my straight pipe) but it goes away after a min or two. Basically I just take it easy for the first few min and then it's fine........

I did it first thing when I got my car. It's a cheap and easy mod. As for performance, it's nothing drastic, but definitely a different sound and feel when you start up the car shortly after changing it out. I say go for it. Can't hurt.
I just put in the K&N and took out the charcoal filter. I can't say that I really notice much of a difference. The car doesn't sound any louder than before. Perhaps you can't hear as much with a 6 cylinder engine. At first, I was a bit nervous about taking out the charcoal filter as I didn't want any possible problems with the dealer. However, after reading about it a bit more and that the charcoal is only found in North American models, I decided to take it out. I'll try it out some more over the next while and will decide whether to keep the charcoal out or put it back in.
Cheapest place I found the K&N (part 33-2292) was on Amazon.com for $43.36 with free shipping. I searched alot of the online car parts retailers and Amazon was cheapest. I was quite surprised as I never figured that Amazon sold car parts and free shipping on top.
