Picking up my 535D M-Sport on Monday & having just had a play on the BMW website to configure a brand new model of my 4 month old car (looks like i saved a fortune), i realised that my car may have the wrong tyre sizes fitted.
The car has the 19" new style M5 wheels fitted, but the tyre sizes on mine are 245/? (can't recall)/19 on the front & 275/?(can't recall)/19 on the rear. According to the BMW website, the M5 comes with 255/40/19 on the front & 285/35/19 on the rear. Can you forsee any problems with this, is it safe??
I only had a quick glance at the wheels/tyres when i test drove the car, so can't recall if they were 8.5J or 9.5J, but learning the above from the website, i was a little surprised. The wheels/tyres did not look odd, but want make sure everything is OK before i collect the car tomorrow.
Thanks in advance.

I always forget my tire sizes. But, I do remember 275 X 30--19's for the rear. I don't think the fronts are 245's though, but maybe. Go to tirerack.com and check out the 1-size up sizes. They will be the same as BMW spec for 19's on the 5er. Start at tirerack by "saving" your car. Others will have to tell you whether the M-sized tires will be problematic.

The different offset makes the wheels stick out a few mm each side and IMHO is within tolerances not to worrry!
ENJOY!

should be 245/35/19 and 275/30/19 - this is what I suspect you have.

The 19" rims you are getting will be the 172 alloys as fitted to mine.
The official M5 wheels are different from these in any case.

As i've not got the car yet (picking up on Monday) & i'm currently in Houston, so not got my order/spec sheet with me, i can't be 100% sure. However the dealer said they were M5 wheels & they looked idntical to me as their was an M5 parked across from mine.
Saying all that, i was excited at the prosepct fo buying the car & perhaps they are as you mention above, either way they looked stunning & it looks like my tyre size question is answered.

Now i'm back home i've just checked the spec sheet & they are 172 M Double Spoke 19". Could have sworn the dealer said they were M5 wheels, but i'll check more closely tomorrow when i collect her. Looks like i've defo got the right tyres then which was my concern.
Thanks for the responses.
