My Ride: 2010 E63 AMG -- Palladium Silver/Black. Love this car but looking to switch things up to keep things fresh. 2nd AMG in a row, but toying with coming back into the BMW fold!

[quote name='Bark41' date='Dec 23 2004, 10:12 AM']540 or 840. Some advise, get the lip chromed and the face painted or better yet, powder coated. I had 540R's on my Porsche and I had the lip clear coated and they started to peel after about 1 1/2 years. Go Chrome, it's worth it! Easier to clean as well!!!!! Here's a picture of my wheels with a chromed lip.
thanks, what face finish are the rims on your bmw?

The rims in the picture are painted to match the car. Silver Gray. There are more pictures in my gallery, behind the Chargers picture."GO CHARGERS"!!!

Decided to go with HRE 20".

I narrowed down my choice to 3 designs:

540r

This is your business, and not mine, but do you really want the 20s? I know they are cool looking, but I have read where other BMW owners with them saying they are terrible stiff riding tires, and when you hit a pot hole, and they do not have much of a sidewall to cushion the blow, and most time they damage the wheel.

(I just change from 17 to 18's I cannot tell that much difference in the ride, they are about there same, but I did hit a small pot hole in the road, which did cause the tire not to withstand the bump and put a hole to the redial belts in the sidewall and I just had it replaced $$$$. :'(

I wish you the best with your new wheels!
