Wheels on 535xi - 18s or 19s?
I am fairly certain this topic is general has been beaten to death, but i just wanted to hear people's opinions on 18 vs 19.
I am worried the 19s would cause too much ride discomfort in relation to the 18s, does that seem to be an issue with 19s?
I have read all the topics i have been able to find on the subject and understand the differences in offsets and staggered vs non, relating to the xdrive vehicles.
I am planning on either the style 166, csl replica, or the m6 5 spoke replica with heavy leanings to the 166.
Currently the car has 17s on it. I like the ride comfort provided by the 17s, but the looks not so much.
Btw, I'm new around here and to bmw, but know my way around cars pretty well and love to learn and discover. Here is an obligatory picture of my 08 535xi.

I've been on 19" staggered setup and lowered on H&R Sport spring for 5 years now. You can compensate the ride w/ thicker sidewall tire.
By Style 166 you also mean 166 replica? ... 'cuz the OEM 166 will protrude pass the fender ... so not sure what look you after .

yes replica. And the pictures of your car make me like the m6 replicas again. Thanks!

I have staggered 19s in the summer - I really like them.
But... when I switch to my 17" winter tires I really enjoy the comfort for a few months!

NoQuarter, thanks. I really haven't ruled out 18s yet because of the concern for comfort, and the lower cost for tires wouldn't hurt.
But I also have this feeling that I may regret 18s.... So nerve wracking over such a minor thing haha.

Same here - but I am not sure it is primarily a function of 17in v. 19in. Winter tires ride like marshmallows compared to summer performance tires, even in the same size.
