Has anyone noticed going from our stock heavy wheels to very lightweight three piece ones that you feel more of the road?

If you increase your wheel size, you will feel more road. If you are feeling vibration, you might need hubcentric rings.

That's possible although there are a lot of variances to road feel including tire size, brand, wheel balancing, suspension etc...

yeah, they are used and I've had the two driver side wheels repaired (fixed a few dents in each) but they still feel like they bounce more on certain stretches of highway. Under 50 or so they are just fine on any road, but over 60 and higher they can feel like they are vibrating/bouncing too much. I have hub-centric rings, so that is not the problem. With used wheels, I guess you can inherit a bunch of problems. Can older tires that have sat in a garage in a couple of years be a problem? Do they develop "hard spots" over time?

They might be improperly balanced or maybe wrong size hubcentric rings? Usually vibration over 60mph means the hubcentric is off or the wheel is not balanced.

right, I would check what the hub size of your wheels are first

bmw e60 hub size is 72.56mm. If your wheels are that size to then its improper balancing.

If not then you need hubrings which are cheap.

Find out your wheels hub size first

yea my last wheels weren't the right hub size and when i hit about 63 mph i got some shaking...anything under this was ok. But since you have rings, i would maybe try a road force balance.

BMW uses a 72.56 and most aftermarket wheels are 72.62. That .06mm makes a difference. You can find a cheap set of rings on ebay.
