My Ride: 2006 550i pretty stock so far
![Default](https://5series.net/forums/images/icons/icon1.gif)
I have a (let me try this again) 2006 550i and am considering wheel options. Does anyone know what my non-sport 550i can fit with NO RUBBING? I would like 20's but 19's are fine too. I also dont want super low profile tires since the roads in northen Jersey are really bad. Any info and pics are greatly appreciated!

This really depends on the wheel width, offset, and tire sizes. I would recommend searching for some brands/models you like then asking which size (out of what they have available) will fit best. Companies like DPE, HRE, etc. also custom make their wheel sizes to fit your car.
For 20'' usually 8.5-9'' width in the front with +20ish offset is pretty safe and 10-10.5'' width in the rear with +22ish offset is safe. For tires, go 245/35/20 up front and 275/35/20 in the rear if you want more tire protection around the wheel. or else go 245 (or 255)/30/20 in the front and 285/25/20 in the rear.

new they r pricey
even used they can still be up there
for the 19s its suggested u use 245/35 fronts and 275/30 rears
in 20s u can do 245/30 fronts and 275/30 in rear
i like making my tires look beefier so i would do 285/30 in rear

If you want any chance at a decent ride on Jersey roads I would stay away from 20's. When you upsize your wheels the overall diameter cannot change. So every inch you go up in wheel size you lose 1/2 inch in tire sidewall. 20"s are for warm weather cars with nice smooth roads. Plus unless you spend huge money for forged wheels, 20's are going to be very heavy and degrade the performance of your car.
Look at tirerack's website to get an idea of offsets and tire sizes. Or send a PM to the guys at Trinity here on the forum. They know what fits.
Take your time and do a LOT of research. Choosing the right wheels and tires takes time. NOTHING you do will effect how your car accelerates, brakes, corners, handles rough roads etc more than the wheels and tires you choose. I have learned the hard way the pitfalls of buying what looks good and seems to be a great price only to find out they made my fine German sport sedan drive like a POS.
