My Ride: I have a 2007 Black Sapphire BMW 530i with SMG. It has the auburn interior, has PDC, Sports Package, Premium Package, rear automatic sunshades with manual side sunshades, 35% black tint, Upgraded angeleyes from Angelibrights, and Logic 7 Sound System
Model Year: 2007
I know this sounds dumb, but I have a 2007 530i with 18s and am replacing the rims/tires. Do I have wheel locks? Also, anything special needed to remove the wheels or any specific advice when putting on the wheels? Thanks.

Get something with a looong lever so the job will be easier: with the tool in the boot is impossible to unscrew a bolt.

1) If you are putting on aftermarket rims, do the OEM lug bolts match up to the new rims? IE do they seat correctly? If you are going back with OEM then should be no issue.
2) when installing the new rims you should tighten the bolts in an alternating pattern (ie every other bolt in a circle)
3) use a torque wrench to tighten to the correct spec after you get the bolts snug (hardly anyone ever does this including myself
4 finally drive the car around for a mile or two, then make sure all the bolts are re-tightened for correct foot lbs.
thats pretty close to the proper way, hell not even discount tires uses a torque wrench all the time, they just use the air gun, and thats a no no for nice wheels.

Get a long 17mm socket if you're putting after-market wheels with a big lip.

In a 5 bolt set up if you tighten every other one isnt that the same?

My Ride: 530I Silver gray with gray leather with Premium Package, Logic 7 Premium sound system with Ipod interface, xenon adaptive headlights, Active steering, Power retractable rear sunshade, Comfort seats, Cold weather package and M5 OEM 166 wheels, Sprintbooster. Ceramic Tint all around, Bilstein Sports shocks with Eibach springs, Brake performance Rotors and Axxis ceramic pads.
I bought a folding cross wrench. This is a lot better, you have a better leverage

My car came with locking bolts if yours did the key should be in your trunk. also wear tough boots cuz you may need to do some kicking to get the wheel off.

Put a little anti-seize between the wheel and hub to make future removal easier. I swear my factory 138s could have been driven around w/o lug nuts they were stuck on so tightly. I had to kick the crap out of the tires to bust them loose. You also can loosen the lugs a bit and rock the car to achieve this effect. Also, to save a lot of time, invest in a decent low profile floor jack if you don't have one already (like $50-ish should do it). The one in the trunk is a PITA.
