the main functin of having those are to make the throttle more responsive...but if you put your car into sport mode or with gear box in DS mode then the result would be about the same isn't it?

i was thinking of getting one but hang on, i got the ds mode etc, so why do i need that to make the throttle even more responsive????

Our cars are "Drive by Wire" and have an inherent delay when the accelerator pedal is pushed, these devices minimize the lag involved! My suggestion (along with MANY others here ) would be to get one and see for yourself!

Sorry - noob question here. How exactly is the delay reduced by this device?

I thought it was bs aswell, I bought the SB and it did miracles. Car felt so much responsive, well worth the $300.

It makes it as if u r smashing on the pedal quicker and faster. If you have an ECU remap, it's MUCh better. If you dont, an SB or Velocity is PERFECT! I should have a Velocity for sale. Ended up not using it.

IDK I had the SB and sold it and no regrets. To me having the SB was like a real-life tutorial on how to drive my car at the limit. Now that it's gone, I'm actually enjoying driving the same way I did with the SB, but a lot more, bc it is a lot more work.

I should also mention that I have a stick shift, which allows greater control of the car to begin with. If I had a steptronic, I'd probably get the Velocity unit - the extra $ is well spent IMO, bc (well, for someone like me at least) I just have to be able to switch the boost off.

PS There are some conflicting opinions on whether the booster actually improve the acceleration. One camp seems to think that since SB's default voltage is greater than zero, it allows for a quicker opening of the throttle, which results in better acceleration. I used to think that way before I took the SB off and tried to accelerate aggressively. IMHO it makes no difference aside from adjusting the gas pedal's "attitude" to more aggressive. Again, in my experience, the actual performance difference was imperceptible. As a matter of fact, my girlfriend thought I put something IN when I took the SB of, bc she said the car felt faster.

I still don't see any lag when I accelerate. I guess my foot is quicker than most people's.
