I put Michelin Pilot Sport A/S on my 128's, and I do love them.
No noise, smooth ride, great grip in wet and dry.
Makes my DSC no longer flash every time I drive hard.

Still pretty new less then 1000 miles, so we will see, so far more then satisfied.
9 1/2 inch wide tires in the back , OH MY..... looks great.

I believe if you order the package, you will get the Mich Pilot Sport A/S, at least this was the case in the US.

I just ordered the wheels, and then ordered the Mich PS2's from tirerack. I love them. Even took them to the track and was very pleased with them.

Thanks for all the information!

The reason I was asking about Michelins is that those tyres are included in the price with the wheels. I don't know what type they are.

Robbo: yes, I got a great deal from the same place as you bought yours. 2080 Euro, including Michelin tyres and transport to Sweden.

SO, WHAT ARE YOUR OPINIONS ON MICHELIN?

Thanks!

Hi Claus!

Perfect!
Is it with P S or P S 2 Michelins?

In the assssories catalogue 2005 there is only Michelins available for the 19's.

Anyhow, I'm super satisfied with my P S. The ride comfort is very pleasant though we in Sweden do not have the best roads... If I compare with our Audi A2 with H&R springs and 205/40-17 tires the E60 is like a limo (as it's supposed to be ).

[quote name='Gudge' date='Apr 5 2005, 06:24 PM']Hi I've been following this post. Are the tyres you guys are referring to run flats, or just the standard variety. If not run flats, why not ? and will this not affect your warranties if the original tyres were run flats.

Thanks.
Go easy on me - I'm a newbie......hoping to take delivery later this month!!

As far as I am aware, runflats do not exist in 19". I am also waiting for the 128's.

I have 19 inch runflats on my 6er as OEM. Bridgestone Protenza 050A. 245/40 front and 275/35 rear. Several MFRs have 19 in and possibly higher now as they become more common.

Put on a set of Michelin PS2's (245/18 and 275/18) for the summer. I'm very satisfied with the handling and surprised by how quite they are. I rode in a friend's S4 the other day. He has Pirelli Zero's on them and he complained about the noise (now I know why).

I just got an email from the company that's gonna sell me the 128's.
They said the tyres were Michelin Pilot Sport, not Pilot Sport 2.

What is the difference?

Thanks

I drove my friends E39 with the PS2s, they handle great and are smooth. He has had them for 8000 miles so far and no noisy from the tire. Right now I'm stayibng away of the run flats as I have a spare in the trunk, besides when i took my tires out they were extremely heavy compared to my new bigger wheels and tires. So i attest that the run lfats because of the reinforcement adds more weight to the already heavy tire.
So what i have now is
245-35-19 front (8.5 rim)
275-30-19Rear (9.5 rim) <-- thinking of putting 285-30-19?? may fit?

So what is the best tire?
I had and checked the Bridgestones SO3a, nice tire, a bit on the expensive side and Heavy heavy
I checked the Michelin PS2s, and are great, but $$ expensive $1700 (tax inc) mounted nad installed
I checked and test drove in my cosuins E46 the Nitto 555, they were ok to good and have my tire size . total intallation here $998 (tax incl)
I checked the Bridgestones RE750, reviews are ok and hear to be noisy after a few miles. A bit heavier than other tires. total intallation here $998 (tax incl)
I checked the Fuzzion ZRi, a freind has them in his E36, he said they suck! but he did not have the money to buy the So3s again
I checked and have the pirelli zeros (what i have in my car now) and they are just ok. they brake a little to early on hard cornering, they wear fast and they are ok on wet. expensive $1500 (tax incl)

Any advise, please? I need to buy tires and can not find anything specific to non RFTs. My car seems is running with slick tires now as i have no more treadwear.

Thanks in advance guys!!

Huge difference. Michelin no longer makes the original PS. Try to buy the 128's w/o tires, then buy the PS2's from your tire dealer in Europe.
