My Ride: 2008 550i. Murdered. Carbon Black. Painted tail lights, M5 trunk spoiler. RS Technik 15mm spacers (rear). Black 172's.
Forgive me, as I'm sure this topic has already been addressed, but I couldn't find. Was just wondering what size spacers I could run with the 172's 19x9.5 rears. I have heard 12mm or 15mm. As the spacers are not returnable, I want the widest possible without any rubbing issues. Thank you guys in advance for your input!

the offsets for 172 rears is ET:32
15mm spacers would take you ET:17, which is the popular 166 M6 rear wheel offset...brings you flush to the fenders...if you want to see pics, you can search for pics of 166 wheels with M6 offsets, or 166 wheels + spacers...
IMO, go with 15mm spacers

Got my spacers from PYSpeed. 15mm RS Technik in black. Thank you guys for your input. They fit perfectly!! Maybe 20 mm would fit?? Gotta find my before pics to show you guys the difference. But with the 550i sport suspension and the stock 172's these spacers are perfect. Thank you guys again for the advice. Sorry for the pics they're from the iPhone.

Question, I also have a 2008 550i with 172's, I have wheel locks, how would I run spacers and still secure my wheels with licks? I live in Brooklyn

Looks great! Did you get spacers on the front as well? I'm not aware of what the factory offset for the front is, which is already pretty close to edge on my 550 w/ 172's, but just wondering if anyone else is running spacers on the front with this setup.
