Hello,

I have just bought an '04 530d and I wanted to get some help for the alloys... Last time I had rubbing on my E46
So for the E60, what size and offset can I get? I was thinking 8.5x19+9.5x19 or 8.5x20+10x20 but what offset do I need to get (ET) to avoid rubbing?
I am planning to lower it 25 or 35mm to make it look just right.

Thanks for your help and sorry for the question, but I REALLY don't want to go through the troubles a second time

I'm not sure about the offset but I'd say go with the 20's!!! Althought 19's in this particular wheel look very nice as well! Good Luck! and be sure to post pix!

also to the e60 boards!

I believe max you can go is et12 in front and et17 in rear with proper sized tires. I would go et15 and et20 to be safe if you are worried about rubbing. Also try seraching this topic has been covered many many times before. Oh yeah those et numbers are for non xi cars.

Thanks for the replies so you reckon 15 front and 20 back should do it? I used the search but I saw different stories and I wanted to make 100% sure after that last time
Are these values different for 19 and 20"? If the front is a 8.5J that's a 245 and at the back 10J that's 285 if I'm correct? (With 9.5J being 275 right?)

if you are using 285 in the rear don't go as aggressive as et17, I have 19x10 in the rear but use 275 width tires. To be really safe you can do et20 in front and et25 in rear and just get spacers to adjust. et20 and et25 are the factroy M5 offsets I believe, et12 and et17 are the factory M6 offsets which are reported by many to fit our cars if using 275 width rubber.

its not about how big your wheels are it about what offset/tire width that you will have that will determine whether or not you rub.
