anyone know the options for purchasing the trunk finisher?

what are the install instructions?
Any BMW Dealership can order it if they don't already have it in stock. I would call Gary Romani of Newport BMW. I ordered mine from there. E60 Members get the 25% discount. He is a great guy to do business with. All you need to do is have it painted and installed. Install is pretty straight forward from what I hear. I had mine installed with my M-Tech at the Body Shop. Supposedly it is just double sided tape and the two bolts for the factory location of the liscense plate bracket.

Quoting EuroCarFan from a search I performed. I think he expalined it best.

On regular E60s, the part between the rear tail lights that holds the license plate is concaved whereas the M5 is flushed. The trunk lid finisher is just a plastic piece that mounts with double sided tape and fills in the concave part and makes everything flushed. I hope that makes sense.

Check out this pic. You can see a side by side comparison. These are fellow E60 Members. Forgive me, I did a quick search and do not have the members names to give the proper credit to.

They have thought of it. If you take out the back seat squab there is a lanyard/handle arrangement that you can pull to release the boot (trunk) lid. It's in the manual, complete with instructions on how to remove and replace the seat.

Ha Ha! Useful, except if you store your manual IN the boot, like I do. Not much help in that case.......
